Newsletter 26th February
26 February 2016
Welcome to this week’s newsletter…
Well, it’s finally happened! A long last and after what seems like an eternity since we put the application in, we have received approval for our Nursery application! So, now it is all systems go for an opening day of Monday 9th May. We already have lots of confirmed places, but if you do know of anyone who might like their child to attend (either in May of at the start of the new school year), please ask them to contact school. We are in the process of recruiting staff to run the Nursery and these should be advertised from next Friday onwards.
The PTFA are holding a CHOCOLATE FAMILY EASTER BINGO NIGHT on Friday 18th March at 6:30pm. Tickets on sale from the school office for £3 and include 4 free bingo game cards to play over the night. Family tickets are also available which will include 16 game cards.
There will be homemade cheese and onion or meat and potato pie available plus a delicious cake stall for those with a sweet tooth. You can bring your own bottle or tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available on the night.
Come and join us to win a ton of Easter Eggs, have fun and try your luck on the Chocolate tombola!
Get your tickets now and support your school, limited tickets available!
To help with this we are having a non-uniform day with payment in Easter eggs on the Thursday 17th March. On this day the children can wear their own clothing and bring an Easter egg (small or large) which will be used as prizes at The Chocolate Family Easter Bingo Night.
On the subject of dressing differently… don’t forget next Friday is our Bed-Time Stories themed World Book Day event – where the children can dress in their own bed-time clothing (pyjamas, dressing gown etc) or dress as a character from their favourite bed-time story. As usual, please do not feel obliged to going to any unnecessary effort or expense.
And, on the subject of books… Nancy and Morgan in Year 4 had the rather brilliant and generous idea of selling their old books from home to raise money to buy more new books for the school library. Today, they did just that and raised an impressive £30.10! They want to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who bought a book, and we say well done to both of them for their lovely, generous idea.
Many teachers offer before school sessions for certain children but a number of children have been arriving too early for these. The problem is that there is no-one to supervise them until the teacher is ready to start their group. Please can you ensure that the children arrive at school via the front entrance just before their group is due to start – many thanks for your support with this.
We have received two payments on the 2nd February, one for £20 for BC and one for £30 for ASC, neither of which had the name of the child associated with them, only the reference B C H. If this is you, please contact the office and we can credit these payments to the right child. Many thanks.
I hope you have a great weekend.
