Friday 18th December Newsletter

18 December 2015

Welcome to this week’s newsletter.

Well, what a busy term it has been … and what a busy week as well! Why this week alone the children have had fun at their Christmas Parties, spend their hard-earned Belthorn Pounds on enjoyable experiences, we have had our Carol Concert, we have sung for the elderly of the village around the Christmas tree, the children have had a FUNDA-fun afternoon, we’ve all enjoyed Christmas Dinner together, and we even managed to fit a pantomime in! Phew – what a lot; and I want to say a huge thank you to all our staff, and members of our school community, for working so hard to ensure that all these fantastic things happen and the children enjoy this special time of year.

I would also like to thank all of you for supporting our ‘Text Santa’ Christmas Jumper Day; thank you for your donations to this worthy cause and for taking the time to find, or make, something suitably festive for your children to wear.

This week we have welcomed Miss Slater to school in her role as our new Receptionist, so when you phone school or call in to Reception it will be Miss Slater you will be dealing with. Miss Staig is still very much with us, but has moved into the back-office to allow her to concentrate on the many other duties she has.

And the winner is…

Y E A R 3…with a very impressive 98%! Well done to everyone in Year Three for their excellent attendance.

I have now finished my work St James, Haslingden and I am really looking forward to returning here full-time from January. I would really like to thank Mrs Rowan for the excellent job she has done of leading the school in my absence.

And finally…

We reopen on Monday 4th January at the usual time.

It only remains to say that everyone here at Belthorn and I would like to wish every one of you a very Merry Christmas, and a fantastic New Year!
