Friday 27th November Newsletter

27 November 2015

Welcome to this week’s newsletter.

This week Year 5 has been busy making bread. They have worked alongside Mellors catering to experience bread making from scratch. This is what they had to say:

“ We made bread, it was really fun. We had to pass the dough round and put yeast, water and flour in it.” Molly

“ It was fun. We had to use yeast to make the bread rise. It tasted good but not as good as bread from the shop!” Liam

“We made bread buns. The baker passed the yeast around. Ryan liked the smell. The bread tasted nice with honey. “  Zachary

Rev Tim Horribin – the Vicar from St. James’ church has popped into see me. There are quite a few family events happening down at the church and we are getting involved in a few of them. For a full list of events, please see the parent’s noticeboard in the playground. A few highlights are:

Monday 14th December – Magic show for families and children 6pm-7pm.

Wednesday 16th December – an event for year 6,7 and 8 pupils : pizza, games, music and fun – 3.30 – 5pm

Thursday 17th December – Rag Tree. All the children in school will be invited to write a prayer on a rag and these will be tied to the tree outside the church. The theme will be on family, community and world peace. During the day, we will go along to the church with some representatives from school and tie our rags to the tree.

And finally … this has been brought to my attention by Summer and Isabelle:

‘We have several guitars in the Library, from when children have been learning the guitar. We would appreciate it if they would take them home after their lessons on Thursdays – Many thanks.’

There you go, and with that…

Have a great weekend – Mrs Rowan and Mr Tilley
